The Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA) has launched the Undersea Navigation Challenge.

The Request for Proposal (RFP) seeks to develop a prototype navigation system for undersea autonomous platforms that can operate without relying on Global Navigation Satellite Systems or acoustic transmissions.

Undersea navigation is a crucial capability for Defence to protect critical undersea infrastructure, enable operations and provide a strategic advantage for the effect of deterrence.

ASCA encourages Australian industry, including small to medium enterprise, to submit proposals that can be developed, demonstrated and matured within 18 months.

A virtual market briefing will be held on Friday 19 September 2025. To attend this briefing, submit details via the registration form.

Information on the Undersea Navigation Challenge RFP can be accessed through AusTender. This RFP will close 12:00 pm AEST Monday 3 October 2025.
