The Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA) launched the Australian component of the Land Distributed Tactical Power Management Challenge (Power Challenge) in September 2026. The Challenge is in partnership with the United Kingdom’s Defence Innovation.
The challenge seeks innovative electrical power solutions to support Defence capability needs that address one or more of the following desired capability effects:
- Company Level Power Generation and Management
- Tactical Edge Power.

Tender evaluations are underway, following an approach to market.
The challenge aims to increase available electrical energy for the individual soldier, as well as at platoon and company levels, to meet future power demands.
