The Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA) launched the Undersea Navigation Challenge in September 2025.
The Challenge seeks to develop a prototype navigation system for undersea autonomous platforms that can operate without relying on Global Navigation Satellite Systems or acoustic transmissions.

The Request for Proposal opened on 15 September 2025 through AusTender – Undersea Navigation Challenge and closed on 3 October 2025. Contracts are to be announced shortly.
