Missions are at the heart of a new approach to innovation that, in partnership with industry and universities, are focussed on rapidly pulling through disruptive technologies into capabilities that will meet Defence’s most pressing needs.
Missions respond to strategically directed Defence priorities that align with Defence policy and strategy, and endorsed by the Vice Chief of Defence Force. Missions are time limited to typically 3 years and feature clear performance targets, off-ramps, and program leaders responsible for establishing partnerships with industry and universities. By working closely with Defence scientists, military end-users, and acquisitions specialists, the Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator delivers minimum viable capabilities in record time.
Missions are announced through Defence channels and stakeholders including:
- Office of Defence Industry Support
- industry associations
- Australian Defence Science and Universities Network
- government agencies.
